Our Journey to 673

We're a family owned private house along the gorgeous South Coast, in Hibberdene, near Port Shepstone.

  â€‹

In 1989, after arriving for a stay in Leisure Bay, we were horrified to find a terribly kept, maggot infested holiday unit. Needless to say, we promptly left. It was 4pm however, and needed a place to stay. At the time, the property was owned and used by the Marist Brothers. After hurriedly finding a tickibox, we called Br Jude, then head of the Brothers, who offered to have us stay at 673.

It was a simple building with just the barest necessities. However, each day that we stayed, we enjoyed it more and more. So much so to the extent that, for the next few decades, we returned to 673 every year during the Easter holidays.

In 2019, while on our regular yearly visit at 673, we were informed that the Marist Brothers would be selling the property.

At first, the news was devastating. 30 years of blissful holidays spent right at the edge of the sea, with a private beach and view over the ocean, would soon come to an end.

It took us less than a day to make one of the best decisions we've ever made. We put in an offer and by the end of 2019, we were the proud owners of this humble property.

Since, we've put a lot of hard work into renovating the house and all of its rooms with the idea to share our love of 673 and open it to a few of our closest friends and family.

And that's us, in a nutshell. We hope you'll enjoy your stay with us.
